HAIRCARE SUGGESTIONS

RECOMMENDED HOME STYLING AND MAINTENANCE.
What to Expect

Some hair loss is normal as with normal hair. Since a person’s average hair loss is between 50-150 per day, you can expect to see a small amount of natural hairs trapped in the cylinders after some time. This is normal and should not be interpreted as hair being pulled out of the scalp.

Shampoo and Conditioning
There is no need to shampoo right away. You may experience some scalp sensitivity after application. When shampooing, use recommended products, like mild or gentle color-treated shampoos. Always remember when shampooing that you should tilt your hair back to prevent matting. Only apply conditioner three inches away from the scalp and/or mid-shaft down. Use a towel to blot the moisture out of the hair. Do not rub. Spray on leave-in conditioner and comb or pick from the bottom up.

Brushing and Combing
Brush your hair regularly to avoid matting. Remember to brush with a natural bristle brush two to three times a day, starting at the back of the neck and working upward. Use a wide-toothed comb to remove tangles from the hair ends. Do not use a comb in areas between the scalp and the cylinders.

HAIR EXTENSION CARE INSTRUCTIONS

DAILY CARE
The Client must ease out any tangles or any matting around the beads once a day, as demonstrated by the Stylist. If this is not done, serious matting can develop. Removing such matting may cause damage to the PURE™ and the Client’s own hair.

WASHING and STYLING
The Client must follow the directions provided by the Stylist and only use the products approved by your Stylist in order to prevent damage to the PURE™ and Client’s own hair.

COLORING and PERMING
Serious damage may be caused to your own hair and the PURE™ hair by chemical treatment at home, or by hairdressers not thoroughly familiar with PURE™. This is because color or perming chemicals may be trapped in the micro-cylinders, where they can continue to chemically affect and possibly damage the PURE™ and your own hair. All chemical treatments of your hair should be carried out at a Salon or by a professional hair dresser approved by your Stylist as competent to treat PURE™. The range of color changes possible to PURE™ is limited by certain chemical factors understood by your Stylist.

CUTTING
Hairdressers not familiar with PURE™ may damage it by cutting it too short, or by incorrect technique. Before having your hair and PURE™ cut by a hair dresser who is not a Stylist, you must ask them to contact your Stylist to discuss the proposed style.

BRUSHING TECHNIQUE
Brushing must only be carried out by using the brush supplied by the Stylist (or equivalent)

SWIMMING
When swimming it is advisable to plait your PURE™ Extensions as this will prevent knotting. Always remember to rinse the chlorine or salt water out of your PURE™ Extensions after swimming and apply a good conditioner or detangling spray.

SLEEPING
It is advisable to loosely plait your PURE™ Extensions or pony tail the hair when sleeping. We recommend you make extensive use of a silk pillow case. This smooth silky surface is non-abrasive and will assist in taking care of your PURE™ Extensions while sleeping.

PURE™ Hair Extensions

AFTERCARE & MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
As your hair grows, the micro-cylinders attaching the PURE™ Extensions will move further away from your head. This can increase the traction on your own hair. It is necessary to return to your Stylist every 4 - 6 weeks, or as advised by your Stylist to have the attachment cylinders returned to their original position or replaced. Failure to do this may result in tangling and/or loss of some of your own hair. Should you require assistance in styling you may return to your Stylist within one week of the initial fitting date to assist with any enquiries you may have. This will also determine the suitable forward care regime at home and in the Salon. It is essential that you call your Stylist if you have any questions.
